The upcoming BMW M2 is getting more and more attention, with numerous prototype sightings around the world.
That can only mean the little Bavarian performance model is getting closer to production. Hurray!
We already showcased two examples toying and getting fine-tuned on the Nurburgring, a couple of months ago. Not only that, but a Carscoops reader sent us some exclusive photos and a video of the thing too.
Now, the little Bimmer has shown its face on the Green Hell again, and another example was spotted in the French Alps, on the famous Col de Turini mountain pass. There’s no doubt about it that the Motorsport engineers are doing their best to make this BMW an overachiever in the land of performance cars.
We don’t know exactly how many horses the car will develop, but we can speculate that the uprated twin-turbocharged N55 engine could produce somewhere between 360 and 380. That’s a whole lot of stallions for such a compact automobile. By comparison, an M3 CSL had 355 horses. Granted, it only weighed 1385 kg (3047 lbs), but we can imagine the M2 coming in at 100 Kg (220 lbs) more.
Well, at least it’s faster than the GLA and the C-Class Coupe, as can be seen from the video recorded on the Nordschleife.
