Here’s the first official rendering of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet, the brand’s first flagship four-seater convertible since 1971 and the 6th addition to a larger than ever S-Class family.
The rendering shows the car with the top down, marking the first time we get to see it that way, as all spy shots we’ve seen so far showed the S-Class Cabriolet with the electrically-operated soft top in the upright position.
Unsurprisingly, the rear end features the same taillights as the S-Class Coupe and the interior appears to be very similar as well.
We don’t know what specific model is pictured, but we do know that the S-Class Cabriolet will use a similar engine lineup as the Coupe, including a Mercedes-AMG S63 version with 585PS (577hp) from a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8, as well as a range-topping S65 with 630PS (621hp) from a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12.
More details should emerge as we get closer to the model’s debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show a month from now.
