Remember the Ares XXL, clearly one of the best-looking S-Class limousines in the world? “Shockingly”, you don’t need to stretch out the big Merc in order to massively improve its looks.
The sixth generation W222 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a stunning luxury car. It’s perfect from all angles and it’s delightfully easy to tune both from a visual stand point and of course, a mechanical one.
Visually, Ares did an awesome job on this car. The front fascia looks even more elegant now, while the new bumpers, side skirts and air intakes all fit together seamlessly.
The dual tone 21-inch five-spoke wheels have a bit of an aggressive design, but I like the red calipers – great contrast overall. Of course, some people may actually need the Pullman version (XXL), but most of us would obviously go for the standard look.
Inside, it’s not as nice as the XXL model (those TVs measure just 17 inches I’m afraid), but come on, it’s not like we can say anything bad about it.
Luckily, they didn’t mess up the interior contrast by mixing up all types of warm colors that don’t go well together. Some luxury tuners tend to think that’s a good idea, but it’s very hard to pull off.
In terms of looks, this is clearly one of the most spectacular S-Class Mercs money can buy. Would we rather drive something from Brabus, Mansory or Prior Design? Probably yes. But those are nowhere near as elegant.
Performance-wise, Ares will pump anywhere between 520hp to 850hp in your S-Class, dependent on which model you drive. Best case scenario, you’ll hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds, which should make you very happy.
