Even though the almighty Vulcan won’t have a street-legal variant, that doesn’t stop Aston Martin from making another hypercar.
Mind you, a possible successor to the ONE-77 isn’t yet in sight, although Andy Palmer – Aston’s CEO – said to Auto Express that the British car manufacturer is currently considering whether or not it should build one, but without Adrian Newey’s involvement:
“There is rarely smoke without fire. I have talked openly about a flagship supercar and a number of studies, including designs, are going on, but the speculation about Adrian Newey does not come from us.
But that doesn’t mean Palmer would say “no” to such an awesome collaboration, as he continued stating:
“Do I like the idea of Adrian Newey doing a road car with Aston? Yes. He is a man with a legacy to leave, but there is no authentic programme with him, yet.”
Well, at least we know that a number of studies and designs are currently going on, so there’s no reason to be disappointed about Newey’s absence from the project. Still, we hope that Aston’s future will hold a proper hypercar.
That means the automobile – if there will be one – is miles away from production, as Palmer concluded to the British magazine: “We hope to make a decision by the end of the year, but we won’t rush”.
