Although we hoped Bugatti’s teaser video would be about the Veyron’s replacement, that’s not the case. The VW-owned sports car manufacturer has released a teaser photo which reveals the mystery.
Using the same #imaginEBugatti hashtag, the image teases a future Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo car, designed specifically for the Gran Turismo 6 video game.
Set to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, the virtual concept is previewed by an image which shows the NACA air inlet, “both an essential aerodynamic element and iconic feature” of the study.
What’s really exciting though is that the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo previews the design language for future models – i.e. the successor to the Veyron. “Bugatti’s design DNA has reached a new stage in its evolution. In view of the nature of the project, our concept car for Vision Gran Turismo will be exaggerated and performance-oriented. Even so, the progressive design language will give an impressive demonstration of the path to be taken by Bugatti design over the next few years,” said Achim Anscheidt, head of the Bugatti design team.
Bugatti president Wolfgang Dürheimer added that the Vision Grand Turismo concept is a gift for the brand’s fans. “Bugatti is admired and loved by countless people throughout the world. We highly appreciate this enthusiasm. The ‘Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo’ will make our brand available to them as well as to gamers and high-performance aficionados throughout the world, only very few of whom will be able to afford a real Bugatti. They can all benefit from the success of our brand. This is a project for our fans,” the executive added.
