The circuit known as Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele County, Utah, has just been acquired by Mitime Investment and Development Group, a Chinese company and subsidiary of Geely Motors.
It swapped owners for $20 million and it includes the trackand the facilities all spread across a total of 511 acres or around 2 square kilometers.
Geely, the single largest China-based car making company which also owns Volvo, will use the grounds “as a campus for drivers, mechanics and track personnel who work for Geely — or aspire to work in China’s emerging automotive racing industry,” according to The Salt Lake Tribune.
No job cuts have been announced, as some 90 employees work at the track plus an additional few hundred that provide supporting services for it. Racing will go on as before on the track as the new owners didn’t announce any calendar changes.
