Following the reveal of the facelifted 2016 Honda Accord Sedan, the Japanese automaker has released the first photos of the refreshed Accord Coupe, which has received similar updates.

The coupe gets a subtly refreshed exterior, more precise ride and handling, a quieter cabin as well as increased fuel efficiency. Styling-wise, the 2016 Honda Accord Coupe features restyled front and rear bumpers, a new grille, new taillight designs, as well as new aluminum wheels for all models and trims. Other changes include the addition of sleeker, Acura-styled LED headlights (for Touring trim), LED daytime running lights and LED fog lights (for Sport trim and above).

The 2016 Accord Coupe shares seven exterior colors with the sedan, but is also available in two exclusive hues – Deep Blue Opal Metallic and Still Night Pearl. Just like the sedan, the cabin of the 2016 Honda Accord Coupe gets a new glossy piano black interior trim for the LX-S model, as well as new meter design and new metal-style dashboard trim (for EX and above trims).

Technical upgrades for the coupe include chassis upgrades consisting of higher performance dampers, retuned electric power steering and, on Touring models, new Amplitude Reactive Dampers and hydraulic subframe bushings. Honda says the latter deliver even more responsive steering and handling together with a more refined ride quality.

The 2016 Honda Accord Coupe is offered with the same powertrains as the sedan: a standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder and an available 3.5-liter V6. The four-cylinder unit is mated to a CVT or a six-speed manual, while the V6 can be had with six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions.

The base 2.4-liter direct-injected i-VTEC engine produces 185hp at 6,400 rpm and 181lb-ft (245Nm) of torque at 3,900 rpm, while the 3.5-liter V6 delivers 278hp at 6,200 rpm and 252lb-ft (341Nm) of torque at 4,900 rpm. V6 models equipped with the 6-speed automatic transmission also feature the Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system. Anticipated EPA fuel economy ratings are 26/35/30 mpg (city/hwy/combined) for 4-cylinder models equipped with the CVT and 21/32/25 mpg for V6 models fitted with the 6-speed manual.
