Meet the hackers who helped Tesla Motors discover and fix security vulnerabilities of its Model S electric sedan. Marc Rogers, Principle Security Researcher for CloudFlare, and Kevin Mahaffey, CTO of Lookout Inc, have hacked into the Model S after two years of attempts.

This says a lot about Tesla’s EV, with the hackers admitting that the car is one of the most secure on the market, despite arguably being the world’s most connected car.

Still, Rogers and Mahaffey managed to remotely open and close the car’s windows, lock and unlock its doors, raise and lower the suspension and cut power.

They could also hijack the small screen that provides speed readouts and alter the speed the driver saw or display distracting pictures on it. Any of these would certainly scare the crap out of a driver. You can find out more about the Tesla Model S hack from the authors themselves in the following video from Bloomberg Television.
