With 471hp from a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, the Lexus RC F should be a blast to drive, both on the street and on a racetrack. But is it so? Yes and no.
Carbuyer’s Mat Watson took the Lexus RC F for a spin and while he described it as fun to drive on the road, he reckoned the Japanese coupe feels a little bit out of its depth on the circuit. The reason for this is the weight – the Lexus RC F tips the scales at 1,840kg (4,056lbs), which means it’s almost 300kg (661.4lbs) heavier than a BMW M4.
Other problems with the Lexus RC-F include the limited visibility, the foot-operated parking brake and the complicated infotainment system. The Japanese luxury coupe has some practicality issues as well, as both space for rear passengers and boot volume are smaller than in the BMW M4.
