Factory teams always promise the most as they usually have big budgets and lots of expertise on hand, so we’re curious to see how Honda does as it reenters the Baja 1000 this year.
The Japanese automaker just announced an official factory effort to participate in the off-road series where we think only motorbikes bore the Honda badge. In fact, the last four-wheeled Honda vehicle to take part in the Baja race was the 2012 HPD Desert Pilot.
That too was an official factory effort, although the resulting vehicle didn’t really look like a Pilot crossover any more.
Details as to this new Baja attempt are nonexistent at the moment beyond the announcement itself.
Only one shot of the new vehicle was shown, and it highlights the twin-turbo V6 engine that will be complimented by an Albins ST6 sequential transmission, Fox racing shocks and General Grabber tires.
The full information and more photos will be released prior to the start of the Baja 1000 event this November.
