Lonard “Lenny” B. Robinson, 51, the man who dressed up as Batman and was made famous by a highway patrol video of him being pulled over, then being asked to pose for photos for the police officers on scene, has died.

He used to be in the cleaning business, but he was able to make enough money to get out and then devoted his time to becoming Batman. He literally spent thousands on the suit and paraphernalia, and even bought a black Lambo Gallardo which he had lightly customized.

According to The Washington Post, he visited kids in hospitals and, as you can imagine, made their day.

However on Sunday, as he was driving home, his car malfunctioned and he pulled over partly onto the hard shoulder of I70 near Hagerstown, Maryland. It was night and according to witnesses, the Gallardo was stopped still “partially in the fast lane.”

As he was outside, a Toyota Camry struck the Lambo from behind, and it ended up hitting him; we assume he was taking something out of the front compartment. He apparently died instantly.

The crash is still under investigation and we’ll follow this up when we have news. Until then, scroll down and check out the (cheery) original video that made Lambo Batman famous.
