The quickest way to get from zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) in a Lamborghini Huracan is by engaging launch control. Fittingly, Lamborghini have decided to call it “Thrust Mode”.
Even though the Huracan isn’t the fastest Lamborghini money can buy, it’s not that far off the Aventador’s performance figures, despite a clear horsepower and torque disadvantage.
Still, with 610 PS at its disposal, the Lamborghini Huracan can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds, before topping out at 325 km/h (201 mph). Watching it go from zero to not just 100 km/h but twice that amount is pretty spectacular, especially since it didn’t need too much time in order to hit that mark.
Then there’s also the engine which sounds absolutely delightful, or shall we say, very dramatic.
What’s great about the Huracan is that Lamborghini have really focused on making this car as drivable as possible regardless of your environment. The Gallardo was notoriously annoying to drive around town (through busy traffic specifically), but the Huracan is a completely different animal.
However, don’t think for a second that it’s not a proper Lambo. Even if it doesn’t look as crazy as the Aventador, it can certainly get you from point A to point B in an equally dramatic fashion with similar acceleration.
As for ‘Thrust Mode’, it’s definitely something that will impress your friends – just make sure you have enough room to accelerate properly.
