Even though we’ve seen this exact C63 AMG Coupe do extremely well in several drag racing battles, picking a fight with a tuned Porsche 911 Turbo is very challenging.
No doubt, 700 HP sounds amazing coming from a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe (W204), and as we’ve seen in past drag races, it really does.
Mind you, this red Merc almost defeated a 900 HP Corvette ZR1 (it actually did during the first 1/4 mile), so as its owner, you probably think you stand a good chance against anything with less power.
Well, the Porsche’s 650 HP isn’t exactly what I’d call “less power” compared to 700 horses – it’s pretty much in the same ballpark. By the way, this is the same tuned 911 Turbo that recently dispatched a 700 HP Audi RS7 and a 750 HP Mercedes CLS 63 AMG.
Theoretically, the lighter C63 AMG should do a lot better than the CLS 63, but drag racing isn’t won on paper. See for yourselves what happened once these two caught a glimpse of the green lights.
