Right, so the new Need for Speed is still about midway through its development, but we are able to take a peek at what it will be like. EA distributed a demo version of an early build to various people, some of which have YouTube channels and can share the experience.
There’s nothing surprising in this batch of gameplay videos, but they do shed light on the customization and driving mechanics – two of the hottest talking points surrounding the game.
The plan for the title is to really go big on the customization front, allowing players to choose from a very wide spectrum of parts. Currently, there seems to be more emphasis on the visual and pure gameplay side of things, but maybe more will be added.
None of the gameplay videos posted below feature any kind of performance upgrading; we don’t know how deep that is at all up to this point, but if it’s anything like the way you modify the exterior, then it could also be a deep minigame-like game mechanic.
