Renting a supercar is not always the joyful experience it should be, as this accident vividly demonstrates.
The MY2014 Ferrari 458 was reportedly rented for a wedding by a 29-year-old man for five days. The exotic rental was involved in a three-car accident before it crashed into a wall. The accident happened in Luton, UK.
Luxury car firm Prestige Lifestyle confirmed that the red-black Ferrari belonged to them and had been totaled. The co-owner of the rental firm said to ITV News: “They have done a really good job of crashing it and writing it off. It took three minutes for the insurance assessors to write it off. I just wish people had more respect for supercars. People need to realise that they are not invincible.”
A VW Passat and a Vauxhall Astra were the other two vehicles involved in the accident, with Bedfordshire Police only adding a brief comment: “We were called at approximately 7pm on Sunday to reports of a three vehicle road traffic collision in which one car collided with a wall. The incident happened in Selbourne Road and involved a Ferrari, a VW Passat and a Vauxhall Astra.”
The driver had paid a £5000 deposit (around $7800) plus £850-a-day fee (around $1300) for the now-wrecked Ferrari 458.
