Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon, a man worth an estimated $48 billion, was recently quoted as saying signing the Top Gear trio was “very, very, very expensive,” but already “worth it.”
Apparently, his comment is not only referring to the contract signing, but actually making the show, as it will need a massive production budget.
Interestingly, while Bezos says, regarding all three of them, that “they’re worth a lot of money and they know it,” he does call it “Clarkson’s new show,” according to the Telegraph.
The show will be one of the most important ones for Prime, although “it can’t just be one show, it has to be a number of things. We have a lot of things in the pipeline, which I think viewers in the UK and around the world are going to love,” said Bezos.
Oh, and in case you were wondering – the yearly subscription to Amazon Prime is $99 in the US and £79 in the UK.
