Subaru has announced UK pricing for the all-new Levorg estate, which goes on sale at the end of September. The model will be offered in a single GT trim level with “generous standard specification” (including AWD) for a base price of £27,495 (approximately $42,850).

Essentially a spiritual successor to the fourth-generation Subaru Legacy Tourer which was discontinued in 2008, the Levorg combines a more compact body with a greater interior space than its forebear.

Subaru says the Levorg offers one of the company’s most refined cabins created, thanks to the use of high quality materials and new technologies.

Standard features include leather-trimmed sports seats with Levorg-specific blue stitching, leather trim on the door panels, center console and on top of the multi-function display, as well as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, connectivity and navigation system.

The Levorg is also said to offer greater leg, head- and shoulder-room than in the last Legacy Tourer, as well as a bigger boot with a capacity of 522 liters (1,446 liters with the second row of seats folded down).

The UK market will get a single engine option, a new 1.6-liter DIT (Direct Injection Turbo) Boxer petrol engine mated to a Lineartronic (CVT) transmission. According to Subaru, the engine offers the same performance as the existing 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated Boxer engine, despite being 36 percent smaller.

The unit is rated at 170PS (168hp) and 250Nm (184lb-ft) of torque, allowing the Subaru Levorg to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.9 seconds, while returning nearly 40mpg UK (7 l/100 km) on a combined cycle, with corresponding CO2 emissions of 164 g/km.

Standard technologies include the new Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection system which combines Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Active Torque Vectoring (ATV) is also offered as standard.
