You know what’s just as unfair as racing a tuned car against a stock car? Racing two tuned cars against each other, despite a huge power gap.
And yes, there’s a huge gap between a Dodge Viper GTS that’s producing over 640 HP and 813 Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque, and a 455 HP Corvette Stingray using a supercharger.
Again, we don’t have exact numbers here but there’s no way that Vette is putting down enough torque in order to keep up with the Viper.
That’s not to say that I wasn’t totally rooting for the Corvette to do better, considering how this very same Viper got its tail chopped off by a McLaren 650S.
In other words, if you can’t handle yourself in your own power-category, picking on “the little guy” isn’t going to earn you any points.
Naturally, had they used a Z06 instead of the entry-level Stingray, things would have been a lot different.
