This year’s overall Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance winner was the 1932 Isotta Fraschini, a car that epitomizes what the venue is about.

It’s huge in length (nearly 22 ft / 6.71 m) long, it’s overtly opulent and it sums up the excess of its particular historical age.

Isotta Fraschini was founded in Milan, Italy, in 1900 by Cesare Isotta and Vincenzo Fraschini, and while the company is still in business even today, it quit making cars in 1949. And what a shame that was as they were renowned for making some of the most impressive luxury cars of the day…

The car in the video below, the Pebble Beach 2015 overall winner, is owned by Jim Patterson. He has a quick chat about his classic wheels with MotorTrend and shares some additional details about his car, probably an 8B model.

Interestingly, the manufacturer bragged back in the day that no two cars it built were ever the same. This obviously added to their value over time and one of these rare cars today easily costs more than $500,000.
