We totally understand why people in New Zealand doubt 22 year-old Alex Kelsey built this awesome custom rally car by himself.
It does use the basic body of a Peugeot 207, but it’s got a custom chassis and suspension, carbon and fiberglass panels, a custom WRC-like interior, all-wheel drive and a V6 Formula Renault engine.
The power plant makes 450 hp and which is sent to all four wheels.
Obviously some people helped Alex along with the build and he employed some special services to finish it. However, what’s to be appreciated is the dedication to the project, the actual fact that it is bespoke underneath as well as it being monumentally fast as a rally car.
To prove that it’s a proper rally car, even one like we used to have in the 80s, it injures a spectator; the victim was Matt Farah who was trying to get mobile phone footage for his video on Alex’s Kesley MC2 posted below via TST.
