You can always count on Citroen to come up with the most outrageous cars ever. So, you can’t blame C-Forum for creating this…thing.
Citroen is known for its visionary approach towards motoring culture; in fact, the current C4 Cactus proves the car maker’s quirkiness. But just in case some people weren’t convinced by it, Citroen recently teased a special Cactus-derived concept, called the Cactus M, set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
In fact, the French car manufacturer shied from calling it a concept, but instead referred to it as “a fresh and invigorating version that revisits the spirit of the legendary Méhari”.
Given all that, the picture depicting an airy Cactus pick-up – which is actually a render – is nothing more than an artist’s interpretation of the upcoming Citroen Cactus M. Keeping the Cactus’s overall layout, the render has Mehari-inspired details, such as a two-seat configuration and a “cargo” area. It doesn’t seem to have a clip-on soft-top thing like the open-top Meharis did, but the roof was made to resemble the simple canopy that made the old model a 4-wheeled baldachin.
More so, the render stays true to the colors and motifs used by Citroen in the teaser and the overall rig seems fun to own.
It looks crazy enough for Citroen to put it into production. Now, all we need to do is wait for Citroen’s official experiment.
