This was bound to happen, since LandWind went to all the trouble of copying the Rover Evoque, it was inevitable that badges and details would be sold to make the transformation more believable – it is the Chinese way.
Now, according to CarNewsChina, you can purchase a perfect replica grille, exactly like the one the actual Evoque comes with, plus the Range Rover lettering and Evoque badge.
Car people will still spot it a million miles away, but for most it will magically transform into an actual Range Rover, the status symbol many aspire to, even if they don’t actually have the money for the real thing.
But if faker-y is their thing, then they can go ahead and pursue it, but it won’t really lead anywhere good. Maybe, in the future, these Chinese manufacturers will just copy the badge and model name too, to save aftermarket companies the trouble.
LandWind should make this the new grille, lettering and badge a dealer-fit option to save people the hassle…
