Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Gains “Speciale” Moniker In Italy

Following last year’s Giulietta Sprint, Alfa Romeo is introducing a further evolution called Sprint Speciale in Italy.

Unfortunately, there are not many design updates compared to the Sprint, with the black painted Sprint 17-inch alloys being the most obvious.

The rest of the styling package is identical to the Sprint and includes a rear bumper insert, side skirts, oversized exhaust tailpipes, Sprint badges, tinted rear windows and glossy anthracite finishes on the front grille, handles, rear-view mirror fairings and fog light surrounds.

However, the Giulietta Sprint Speciale gets performance upgrades including a sports suspension and bigger brakes with 4-piston Brembo red calipers.

Inside, the special edition Giulietta comes with sports seats upholstered in fabric and Alcantara with contrasting red stitching, a leather wrapped sports steering wheel and Silver trim on the dashboard and the center tunnel. Standard equipment also includes aluminum pedals and sill plates. Optional extras include a retro-looking Alfa Red gear knob.

In terms of equipment, Alfa Romeo offers standard automatic climate control, fog lamps and the latest Uconnect infotainment system with a 5-inch or 6.5-inch touch screen.

The Giulietta Sprint Speciale is offered in Italy with a choice of four powertrains: A 150PS 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo and three turbo diesels – the 120PS 1.6 JTDM, 150PS 2.0 JTDM and 175PS 2.0 JTDM with Alfa TCT dual-clutch transmission.

Prices in Italy start at €27,500 ($30,800) for the petrol version and reach €32,950 ($36,900) for the top diesel model.
