A complete set of press photos of Renault’s next Megane slipped through the internet cracks this morning revealing the upcoming compact hatch in detail.
The fourth-generation of Renault’s Megane has a more mature appearance, which edges closer to the styling standards we’ve come to expect from neighboring Germany rather than the more radical and quirky designs from France – think second generation Megane.
The styling, both inside and out, is heavily influenced by Renault’s bigger Talisman sedan and Estate, which together with the new Megane will celebrate their world premiere at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15.
Renault execs have previously stated that their VW Golf, Opel Astra and Peugeot 308 rival will come with a higher-quality interior and more tech features, to address one of the main criticisms of the current model.
In the interior pictures, we see that many of the car’s functions will be controlled through a tablet-like central touchscreen that’s similar to the ones used on the Talisman and the latest Espace minivan.
Underpinning the new Megane is the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF platform that’s used on the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kadjar crossovers, with the French hatch to be offered with the firm’s latest petrol and diesel units.
