Can the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo be more hardcore than it already is? Of course it can!

Carrying the same basic idea behind the Vision GT – on which it is actually based – Alexander Imnadze’s study takes the French car maker’s heritage on a whole new level.

Intuitively called the Type 57 GT, the concept draws inspiration from Bugatti’s legendary models, including the Type 57SC Atlantic, the Aerolith prototype, the Type 57 Tank,  the Veyron, and the most successful racing car of all time, the Bugatti Type 35. In fact, the longer you stare at it, the more you find obvious style cues which were taken from its ancestors.

Although the Type 57 GT retains the same basic layout of the Vision GT, thus resembling a Le Mans racer, the artist tried to integrate the aerodynamic shapes of the old Bugattis in its overall design. The teardrop form of the Atlantic and the chiseled corners of the Type 57 Tank seem to be the favorite cues transferred to the futuristic piece.

Moreover, as if the Vision GT wasn’t carrying enough modern-day, race-inspired artifices, the Type 57 GT concept comes buried under a racing skin. As simple and streamlined the Tank was in the olden days, as ferocious and downforce-oriented are these modern-day concepts.

Still, compared to Bugatti’s work, this one seems more bulky and well proportioned, thanks to its rounded volumes. The huge NACA duct feeding precious air into the massive W16 has been rendered slightly different by Alexander Imnadze, taking the job of an engine cover.

A stunning artist’s interpretation, looking absolutely fantastic.
