The 15th of September is the day Borgward will officially unveil its first product after a 54-year absence.
The German car manufacturer announced its return at the Geneva show this past March, by presenting a sharp-looking 1.5-litre four-cylinder Isabella Coupe and an interesting slogan: “Accessible Premium”.
At first, Borgward seemed like it’s living its 15 minutes of fame, but after actually presenting a teaser – some months ago – we knew things were getting serious, especially since the car was being conceived to appeal to the Chinese market to begin with.
Set to begin production in 2016, Borgward hits us with another sneak peek of the upcoming model. Mind you, we deduced the car’s SUV-esque proportions right from the start, but we kind of wondered if it will be based on an existing automobile or it will be something original.
Well, by the looks of the new, enigmatic teaser-image, very little resemblance with other car models can be found and knowing that Saab’s former design director was in charge of the styling, the odds of being something special are increasing by the minute.
