Following some teaser photos that didn’t reveal much, the first allegedly official images of the Citroën Cactus M Concept have surfaced on the internet.
We don’t know for sure if these photos are the real deal, but French website Citronfeng claims they are. Citroën’s homage to the Méhari is obviously based on the C4 Cactus, but is very different from the waist up, ditching the hatchback body style for an open top with two seemingly wooden A- and C-pillars that are perfect to carry a surfboard on.
The study only has two doors instead of four, and features a very colorful interior.
According to Citronfeng, the Cactus M Concept is powered by a 110PS turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission – a combination that will soon be available on the C4 Cactus.
There are no other details about the study, which may or may not preview a production model. We won’t have to wait too long for information though, as Citroën will officially unveil the Cactus M study later today.
