When planing a comeback, it’s always a good idea to start fresh and get a name that’s more relevant to the industry’s current landscape.

Isn’t Karma a much better name for a car than Fisker? It even sounds like a Tesla rival right off the bat. On top of that, Karma Automotive now says that we’ll see a plug-in hybrid from them as early as next year, which is great news, even though we’ll be looking at a re-launched product.

Their new logo is “clean, elegant and modern in its simplicity”, according to Karma.

“An imperfect right, representing constant effort towards unattainable perfection, encircling the earth. With a spark of sun, the eternal symbol of endless renewable energy. Inner cut lines represent our three brand priorities: Beautiful, Clean, Memorable.”

Another section of their new website reads: If you don’t get it, you don’t get one – which sounds a little weird coming from a car maker. And it’s just as weird to hear a manufacturer say the words “We exist for those who HAVE TO HAVE ONE. There are plenty of exceptional cars out there for the rest of you.”

Hopefully for them, people won’t get offended and send them pictures of the Tesla Model S just for a good laugh.

Since the company’s assets and trademarks were sold to China-based Wanxiang Group, Karma has been on the comeback trail. Now that they have substantial financial backing, it’s time for them to have some success in this industry.
