Tesla has bumped the power of its most potent Model S from 691 hp to 762 hp, but how does that translate into real world acceleration difference?

The short answer is the new P90D, with its Ludicrous mode enabled, comfortably cruises ahead of the P85D and keeps building the gap. In fact it looks quite a bit faster (especially off the line), more so than you would expect from a 71 hp difference…

Comparing numbers, the P90D has a claimed 0-60 mph time of 2.8 seconds, whereas the older variant manages 3.1 seconds.

Watching the video posted below, it really does look 20 percent faster as was noted when it was launched. To add another figure into the mix, the acceleration peaks at 1.1g, according to the same official information.
