Nissan has released yet another teaser with its mysterious new crossover.
It’s called the Gripz and it will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The concept is designed to build on Nissan’s pioneering Crossover leadership (apparently Nissan is in an all-Crossover offensive) and, according to the Japanese car manufacturer, the automobile takes its inspiration from the legendary 240Z desert racers as well as from the two-wheel world of cycling.
Now, the Datsun Fairlady (or 240Z as we all know) took part in some desert races in the 70s. So, thinking this concept is a direct descendant of those raised, crossover-hybrid sports cars, could the Gripz hint a future Z model? Speculations indicate that the upcoming Z-badged Nissan will most likely be a crossover and, to be frank, the concept’s name provides a clue: Gripz. The “Z” is voluntary placed there.
Not only that, but the red, white and carbon motif is signaling a sporty study, while its unique front-fascia design features boomerang-shaped LED headlights that are reminiscent of the 370Z model. What do you guys think? Does it preview a blue-blooded sports car or the future Juke?
