The V-Class people-carrier is a typical example of ‘form follows function’, but in Frankfurt, Mercedes-Benz’s AMG arm waved its styling wand to make it more attractive to self-conscious consumers.
Beginning from the end of 2015, all V-Class models will be available for order with the AMG Line equipment package.
On the outside, you get newly styled front and rear aprons, side sill panels, a bigger roof spoiler and 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels on lower profile tires, which together with the 15mm lower sports suspension, hand it a more aggressive stance.
It also gets a 17-inch braking system with the calipers featuring Mercedes-Benz lettering. Optionally, it can be fitted with the AGILITY CONTROL suspension featuring frequency-dependent, variable damping.
In the cabin, the package adds air vents in silver chrome, a sports instrument cluster in brushed aluminum, carbon-fiber look trim, aluminum pedals and a black headliner.
“The response to the Concept V-ision e was decidedly positive. Our customers prefer that something ‘extra’. That is also confirmed by the individual orders. The majority of customers order their V-Class with numerous exclusive, high-quality optional extras”, said Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans. “With the V-Class AMG Line we are now addressing further target groups who are looking for even more individuality and emotional appeal.”
