The Weissach plant, and its track, might much closer associated with Porsche, but the Leipzig factory, which opened in 2012, also has some nice features.

The fact that the Panamera, Cayenne and Macan roll off its assembly lines is, perhaps, irrelevant to petrolheads, though brushing off these models, especially the saloon, does not do the brand justice.

What they will find interesting is the test track. When designing it, Porsche had a brilliant idea: why not pick some of the most famous corners from other circuits around the world? This they did – and the result is as good as it sounds.

From Nürburgring’s Karussell to Monza’s Lesmo and Parabolica, the Suzuka S and Laguna Seca’s Corkscrew, it’s a highly demanding circuit and, of course lots of fun, too (yours truly can attest to that, even if he never got that Corkscrew right…).

Porsche Motorsport, who is in charge of all GT models, released a video of its three cars, that is the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS and the Cayman GT4, which also happen to be the pinnacle of its range, doing the rounds at Leipzig.

Just to make sure that the racing connection is not lost on anyone, they had the 911 GT3 Cup join them. The iconic Martini livery was a no-brainer, we guess…
