It turns out that, as long as you get the wheel size just right, the F20 BMW 1 Series doesn’t look bad even without the much-appreciated facelift.
Don’t get me wrong though, the facelifted version is considerably better looking, especially the front fascia. They went from those huge headlights to ones that actually look much sleeker, more “BMW” if you would.
The rear design is also better in the newer model, though you’d be hard pressed to say that it makes that much of a difference. Some people quite liked the smaller taillights over the larger “saloon-type” ones.
This red 1 Series you’re looking at here is the Euro-Spec ‘Sport Line’ version. Unfortunately we can only guess what’s under the bonnet, but considering that the 1 Series has some excellent power train options, let’s just go ahead and assume it’s fun to drive.
The wheels hail from Vossen and they’re called the ‘CVT’ – which we’ve seen many times before, even on this red Dodge Charger SRT 392, quite recently. Their design is quite timeless, and suits not just sports cars, supercars or super saloons, but also premium hatchbacks.
