The Rezvani Beast Speedster’s sharp, carbon fiber bodywork doesn’t offer many clues about the hardware it uses.

But we know that it is based on the stripped-out Ariel Atom 3, from which it sources the chassis and the supercharged 2.4-liter Honda engine delivering 300-horsepower.

Rezvani promises a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of 3.5 seconds for the Speedster, which combined with the performance-tuned chassis and open-top body, should offer an exhilarating / scary driving experience.

The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah wanted to find out how the Speedster handles so he took it for a drive on Ortega Highway in California. First impressions? It sounds like a Honda, which is not that cool in a car that costs $140,000.

The Rezvani Beast Speedster feels like a prototype racer to drive due to its tight steering and very heavy gas pedal, which makes it a bit of a handful around town
