Destroying something just so you can put it back together sounds like something the Mythbusters would do, not a commercial transportation company.
Either way, these guys apparently did it. They threw everything they could think of at this Volvo truck, such as flying debris, spikes and even a good old wrecking ball – and not the Miley Cyrus type. And while it all looks very spectacular, we can’t help but question the realism here.
First off, notice how after being bombarded with debris, the truck looks brand new as it’s heading towards the spikes, which just happened to work like a charm? Come on, those things are tricky to get right, and they certainly don’t produce fireworks.
Lastly, right before the truck is about to get a wrecking ball to the face, notice how the bonnet is already crumpled up? What’s going on there?
Anyway, the guys from Ryder Fleet Management Services go on to say that their team needed less than 16 hours to bring the truck “back to life”, which does sound interesting…as long as you don’t notice any of the irregularities in the video.
If they really wanted to impress us, maybe they really should have used the Mythbusters (since we mentioned them earlier) and have them blow the thing to kingdom come.
Fixing that type of wreck would have been really impressive.
