Suzuki says its new Ignis, the production version of the iM-4 concept, is a crossover. It certainly doesn’t look like one, looking more of a slightly tall city car, but the crossover impression will be enhanced once the Trail version is launched.
It’s being previewed by the Ignis Trail Concept, which promises extra capability off road as well as several unique additions to the exterior – more cladding around the wheelarches and sills plus roof rails and decals.
Basically, it is to the regular new Ignis what the Stepway is to the Dacia Sandero.
Suzuki hasn’t specifically said it’s going to put it into production, but since it has showed the concept and it’s by no means a stretch to make it based on the regular Ignis; it too will be made available for purchase pretty much as you see it in the gallery below.
It’s set to debut at the Tokyo motor show alongside the regular Ignis and concepts.
