We do get why people want to turn their not so special cars into replicas that are much more enticing… some only to the uninitiated and / or from a distance. They frequently turn Mercedes drop tops into Ferraris, but in some cases they don’t even really try…
Take this laughable attempt at turning a 1990 Merc SL into a Prancing Horse of sorts. No modifications were operated on the body whatsoever, and it would seem all the effort has actually gone towards (badly) placing as many Ferrari emblems as possible – it also features custom rims, bumpers, side skirts and, inexplicably, metal meshes over the lights…
If this is a joke car, then we’ll get a good laugh out of seeing it, but if the seller is serious we’ll just have to call it a less than amateurish attempt at turning a Merc into a Ferrari – and if you’ve seen more successful results, you`ll know it can be done much more convincingly than this.
However, it seems the seller thinks he actually achieved something good here. The craigslist ad says he wants $10,000 for it or a Lamborghini kit car in exchange – he’s very optimistic on both counts, I think.
The car is in Braselton, Georgia, just outside Atlanta.
