After spending a lifetime in building and maintaining other people’s Italian sports cars, Rosita Corato’s father brought home a 1959 Porsche 356 Speedster in poor condition in order to build his dream car.
Corato comes from a family of coachbuilders, with her father being one of the last few to be recognized as a master sheet metal worker. He restored the 356 Speedster as a race-car, adding hand-formed aluminum body panels like the unique front hood and doors for lightness, gave the engine a power update and added a close-ratio gearbox for better performance.
Instead of keeping it as a garage queen though, this unique Porsche 356 Speedster is being driven and enjoyed with every given opportunity. Petrolicious shares their inspiring story in their latest episode.
