Some people say that money can buy anything, but this video begs to differ.
Yes, being affluent can buy you a Ferrari 458 Challenge race-car, a team of engineers and the possibility of actually racing something, but it won’t make you a good racing driver. You can’t buy years of training and skill mastering overnight.
The gentleman destruction derby series, also known as Ferrari Challenge, is brimming with individuals that didn’t have the chance to become racing drivers when they were…umm, young, and are now paying for the privilege to live their dream.
So, you can imagine what kind of…disturbances this creates during a race. Sure, the video might seem funny at first, but at one point it becomes embarrassing. No, really, it becomes uncomfortable to watch. It’s just like a multiplayer online game, for crying out loud.
I’m not saying I would do better, but seeing a vast army of technicians, engineers, and trainers (equipped with state-of-the-art technology, trucks and expertise), wasting huge amounts of energy just to see their work amateurishly crashed by some rich guys around the track is kind of… sad. Don’t you think?
