Even though this video becomes a bit too unnecessary at times, the Abu Dhabi Police Force looks very well equipped to handle speeding exotics trying to get away.

Of course, if you want to talk exotic cars, the cops have quite a few of them as well. In this particular case, they make due with a Nissan GT-R, as the task at hand was to chase down a red Ferrari 458 Italia. But let’s start from the beginning.

This rather cinematic video starts off with the suspect slaloming through traffic in a blue McLaren MP4-12C, which naturally gets noticed by the cops in a very Michael Bay-like manner. Aside from the helicopter, the police initially send out a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, a Ford Taurus and a couple of VW Touaregs to look for the supercar.

They’re also running some type of facial recognition software, straight out of just about every action movie you’ve ever seen in the past couple of years.

Sure enough, the suspect manages to ditch the McLaren and hops into a Ferrari 458 before being spotted yet again by the patrolmen in the Taurus. As the Ferrari hits the highway and starts leaving his pursuers behind, the cops call in a GT-R, which does make a pretty cool entrance.

Realistically speaking, this makes sense because the GT-R would have no problem keeping up with a 458 – though if the Ferrari driver just keeps his foot on the gas, I’m not sure how a similarly fast supercar could actually catch up to it.

What doesn’t make a lot of sense is, why have the high-speed chase anyway if you’ve already set up a road block a couple of miles ahead? Just follow the suspect from a safe distance.
