With the TT Sport Cup season finale upon us, this 310 PS race car was brought in to light this Audi showroom floor on fire. Figuratively speaking, of course.

But seriously, this car is smoking hot. It doesn’t just look aggressive, it’s also really (really) quick thanks mainly to how little it weighs. Consider for a minute that those 310 PS have to deal with just 1,125 kg (2,480 lbs) when accelerating or when braking into a corner.

So yes, this car is the real deal. It also comes with a push-to-pass mode which delivers an extra 30PS, as well as an active differential for the front axle – which the driver can adjust from the cockpit in order to improve traction.

Under its hood you’ll find the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit used by the TTS, which is quick enough to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds, and doing so while weighing in at around 1,440 kg (3,174 lbs).

So imagine how quick this thing is after losing a little over 300 kg of excess weight – or about as much as a fully grown male Sea Lion.

All in all, it’s a most welcome sight among typical Audi models that you’d find in a showroom such as your 5-door hatchbacks or your everyday compact SUVs.
