With the Pirelli Edition Aventador, Lambo have somewhat improved on this supercar’s looks, without making it quicker in any way shape or form. A certain hybrid hypercar would be licking its chops.

What’s not to love about supercar vs hypercar battles? It’s everything the automotive industry was capable of in terms of naturally aspirated engines, against the dawn of something new. Well, the Porsche 918 Spyder is that “something new”. It’s one of the worlds most impressive hybrid hypercars.

But let’s put all that aside and just focus on the performance figures and what happens once both cars engage Launch Control and blast off.

By the way, “blast off” is quite an appropriate description of what happens here, especially with the Aventador, which is still one of the most brutally accelerating cars ever built. It can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds and if it gets really good traction off the line, good luck reeling it in without a proper hypercar.

Luckily, that’s exactly what we have here! The mightly 918 Spyder and its 887 PS hybrid power unit will hit the 100 km/h mark in 2.6 seconds and fly all the way to 345 km/h (214 mph), which is actually less than what the Aventador is capable of, at 350 km/h (217 mph).

So without giving anything away, though the title does speak for itself, check out the video and tell us who you were rooting for.
