BMW’s Motorrad division is known for providing a wonderful base for some stunning, custom prototypes, and this concept-drawing previews another awesome machine.

Granted, this time it isn’t a BMW-made bike, but a project built by Jeffry Sol – owner of Dutch High Octane Speed Shop – which uses a BMW product.

You see, at the beginning of last year, BMW challenged a few Dutch custom-bike builders to let their creativity loose on the BMW R nineT. As you might remember, the stock R nineT is a very versatile model – which even served as a base for BMWs own take on the custom-bike culture – so it was the perfect canvas for an impressive project.

Inspired by the design of racing cars and engines, Jeffry Sol came up with the HP nineT, a perfect 70’s-style café racer – a motorcycle built for speed, functionality and handling. After working a year on the project, Sol clearly enhanced the bike with his own custom, bespoke taste and approach, although he kept the fuel tank intact, as he believes it’s “one of the true design features of the R nineT”.

The entire body work was redesigned from 1.5 mm thick aluminum sheets, handmade using an English Wheel to create the beautiful curvaceous forms. The bike will be unveiled on Friday, November 6th at Bigtwin Bike Show in Rosmalen, and we can’t wait to see it in the flesh.
