Even though Dwayne Johnson drives a Range Rover Sport in his HBO show ‘Ballers’, in real life, one of his favorite cars is a Ford F-150 dubbed the Black Horse.
With that in mind, seeing him in a Ford commercial isn’t that big of a surprise – besides, he’s being his usual no nonsense self instead of actually talking nonsense like some other big Hollywood star who often gets behind the wheel of a Lincoln on-screen. Of course, this is a parody of sorts and it happens to work really well given The Rock’s persona and intensity.
He’s also really good as the team leader type, and his troops look to be more than just up to the challenge of giving a Ford F-150 a systems check. This video called “The Specialists”, is the first of many, and it’s part of a multi-year deal that Johnson signed with Ford Service.
On his personal Instagram account, The Rock said that his partnership with Ford “is a big one and becoming their #SpokesmanOfService means one thing… we take care of the people. This Monday I’ll introduce you to my bad ass team of #FordSpecialists representing Ford Service Divisions all across America.”
While this is a fun way to promote Ford’s service divisions, customers probably shouldn’t expect their cars to be serviced like the fate of the world depended on it.
And besides, “wheels up, flaps down”? Who talks like that?
