Since Turkey will be the first market where Fiat’s new compact sedan will be available to buy starting next month, the carmaker’s local unit has released more photos and information about the new model.

While in Europe, Middle East and Africa the model will be called Fiat Tipo, Turkey will be the only market where it will be sold as the Egea. The concept car’s name turned out to be so successful that it was decided to keep it for the production model as well.

As you can see from the photos, there are no styling changes over the Fiat Aegea pre-production study.

The compact sedan is 4.5m (14.7 ft) long, 1.78m (5.8 ft) wide and 1.48m (4.8 ft) high, with a 2.64m (8.66 ft) wheelbase. Luggage capacity is a generous 510 liters (18 cu.ft).

In Turkey, the Fiat Egea will be offered with two diesels and a petrol unit. The diesels are a 1.3 Multijet II with 95PS (94hp) and a 1.6 Multijet II with 120PS (118hp). The petrol engine is a 1.4 Fire 16V with 95PS (94hp). The units will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The most economical model will be one of the diesels, which is projected to return 4 l/100 km (70.6 mpg UK or 58.8 mpg US).

The list of standard and available features on the Fiat Egea in Turkey includes parking sensors, rearview camera, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlight sensor, Uconnect infotainment system with navigation, TFT screen for the on-board computer, multifunction steering wheel and more.
