Besides the three tuning projects based on the Edge Sport, Ford will bring to SEMA four tuned Explorer Sport SUVs.
The first of these is called the All Star Performance Explorer Sport and is designed and built to be “the ultimate road trip vehicle no matter the destination.” The vehicle features exterior upgrades aimed at improving its off-road capabilities, including a lift kit, LED lighting, meaty tires and a carrier basket.
In the cabin, the customized Explorer Sport features a unique leather and suede seating setup as well as Sony component speakers and amplifiers.
The second exhibit is the Ford Explorer Sport from Cars by Kris, designed to embody the spirit of “Wanderlust” – which can be roughly translated as the desire to travel, to see the world. The car features a brilliant orange paint scheme and aggressive carbon fiber exterior accents, with modifications also including powertrain upgrades, custom lowering springs and 24-inch Triumph Forged wheels, among other things.
Moving on, the MAD Industries Explorer Sport adopts a luxury urban lifestyle, featuring a lowered stance with Niche Forged Alpine 24-inch Wheels influenced by today’s fashion trends. Inside, the plush Roadwire leather upholstery “is perfect for a night on the town hitting your favorite club with your friends or a weekend road trip to your favorite spot,” the release says.
Finally, the last customized Explorer Sport is the most over-the-top of the four due to its intense yellow paint scheme that uses PPG paint, the custom sound system utilizing Kicker Audio components, and Flowmaster mufflers and tailpipes. The concept also features lowering springs, billet wheels and red line tires for a more aggressive look.
