Ford will present no less than 28 customized vehicles and deliver “several exciting announcements” at the 2015 SEMA Show.
Right now, the automaker is previewing three of these customized vehicles, all based on the Edge Sport SUV. In addition, Ford says special attention has been given to the 2016 Explorer Sport and to SUVs in general, but no details about other concepts are available yet.
The first of the Edge-based projects is called “Ignition by Webasto”, which promises to bring “both luxury and performance together in one sexy package.” Tested and approved by NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski, this Edge Sport is said to offer more aggressive handling “while offering comfort associated with high end luxury rides.”
It features carbon fiber components and performance enhancing parts that make it deliver more power and tighter handling, according to Ford. The vehicle also features Webasto Thermo technology such as an engine pre-heater, ThermoCall TC3 and H740-II Comfort Inbuilt sunroof.
The second customized vehicle, called the Vaccar Edge Sport, gets bespoke brushed finishes and flat metallic textures combined with an aggressive wheel-tire fitment (22-inch) that is precisely stanced thanks to an advanced air suspension. Modifications also include an upgraded engine and an Alea Leather complete custom upholstery set, among other things.
Finally, the Ford Edge Sport Tjin Edition is what a street performance version of the SUV would look like. The vehicle features performance modifications and an advanced air suspension, as well as upgrades such as Baer 6S front and rear big brakes, 22-inch ADV.1 ADV15R 3-piece wheels and custom Alea Leather CT interior.
