Apparently, some Hyundai buyers from Korea aren’t at all pleased with their cars, especially the Sonata, and they’re accusing the company of double standards.

More specifically, they’re accusing Hyundai of building better cars for the US and other international markets than the ones they offer home.

TheKoreanCarBlog says these quality problems pointed to by Korean users have prompted the automaker to stage a crash in order to prove there is nothing different between Sonatas sold in the two parts of the world.

Hyundai set up the test in which a US-spec Sonata (the red car) collided head on with a local market example. The crash was successfully carried out and judging by the video posted below, it looks like both cars performed identically.

They were crashed perfectly head on, with no offset from the center whatsoever. This way, when they collided, they didn’t jump to one side and the result of the crash was easier to gauge.
