It’s that special time of year again when all the strange automotive creatures come to life to celebrate Halloween the annual SEMA Show.
Kia is an active player at this year’s event in Las Vegas brining four new custom-built vehicles, including the pictured A1A Optima based on the new generation of their sedan that’s named after Florida’s A1A highway.
The Korean carmaker has announced two more conceptual tunes, the Forte Koup Mud Bogger and Pacwest Adventure Sorento extreme off-roaders, but is keeping the fourth model a secret – for now.
As far as the teal-colored A1A Optima is concerned, Kia turned its latest mid-size sedan into a four-door roadster of sorts by chopping off the roof and shortening its windshield, while giving it a…proper SEMA style makeover with suicide rear doors, 20-inch wheels bolted on a lowered Ksport suspension, and a chrome trimmed face.
On the inside, the Korean brand’s U.S. arm placed what they describe as, “soft butter-cream leather bucket seats up front and custom double buckets in back separated by extended armrests and a custom center console”.
The only upgrade under the hood is a high-performance exhaust for the otherwise stock 245hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four.
