Lexus wants to surprise us with the reveal of a new concept at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.

The concept will reportedly preview the company’s new generation of the LS flagship model with a report from AutoNews  talking about the possibility of a fuel cell powertrain hiding under its skin. Parent company Toyota is keen on pushing the fuel cell technology into mass production as it vividly demonstrated with the Mirai and the new LS sounds like a good opportunity for Lexus to do the same.

Toyota will also reveal a hydrogen fuelled concept at Tokyo Motor Show, the futuristic FCV Plus. Lexus has promised a more emotional experience for the future LS with the company celebrating this year the 25th anniversary of its market debut in Europe.

The new Lexus LS is expected to come packed with the latest tech features and gadgets of the Japanese company, with hybrid and V8 versions included in its range. The fuel-cell version is reportedly expected to reach production in 2018 without anything being confirmed yet.

Of course Lexus has not shared yet any official information about the concept as they want to keep it a secret until the official reveal at Tokyo Motor Show towards the end of the month. The exhibition will also mark the Japanese debut of two models, the revamped GS and high-performance GS F, while the new RX crossover will make its first public appearance at the event.
